Barry Brontosaurus - a Sketch
Meet Barry. Barry is a Brontosaurus. Barry Brontosaurus likes baked beans, beach balls, baseball bats, brass bells, and big books. He gets his hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works. And he wears Bermuda shorts. That is Barry Brontosaurus for you.
If you have not guessed by now, Barry Brontosaurus also likes alliteration. But that did not start with a “B” so I could not include it in his list.
A Non-Conforming Brontosaurus
As you can see, Barry does not necessarily like all the “normal” things. But then who gets to decide what is normal, anyway. Just because a lot of people like something, does that make it normal? Not necessarily.
Feel free to be the same way. Live your life, not the life that others tell you to live. Like what you like, not necessarily what everyone else likes. When I was growing up, I was known as the guy who listens to all kinds of strange music that most people don’t listen to. Stuff like movie scores, classical music, and Spike Jones. That has not changed all that much.
Be yourself. Live your own life. As long as it follows God’s design, of course. (If that sounds familiar, I said something similar in the previous post. Maybe I have a theme going here.)
Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God—what is good and well-pleasing and perfect. - Romans 12:2
About the Artwork
I thought it would be fun to do a quick sketch for a change instead of something more involved. At first, I did not know what to sketch. And then I saw a random dinosaur picture online, and I decided to draw my own.
The Bermuda shorts were actually an afterthought once I named this brontosaurus Barry and started coming up with all sorts of B-things after that. But they were fun to add on.
And yes, despite the charcoal and paper look, this was drawn on my iPad using the Procreate app. I should really start drawing some of these things with old-fashioned pencils and paper. I have not done that yet, but I have a plan!
